Following a lengthy illness my wife underwent reconstructive surgery at ULHT Gynecology in March this year, the operation initially seems to have gone well but in early April it became clear that something was seriously wrong.
We went to our doctors who said, call the gynaecology department back and explain what had happened. We then called gynaecology who told us nothing could be done and nobody would see us even though it was only 10 days after major surgery, we had been abandoned.
As a result of the conversation with Gynae we had no other option than to present at A&E which we did that afternoon, a couple of hours later someone from Gynaecology came to see us and stated we needed an emergency referral back to the consultant (who I'm sure would be horrified if she ever gets to read this). We left the hospital that day thinking we would see someone soon.
That was early April 2015, it is now July 2015 and despite numerous trips to the doctors and the doctor even calling the gynaecology department while my wife was there we still have no appointment, my wife remains in pain and off work (even though she does not get paid when off on sick leave).
During the last few months we've made numerous phone calls to the hospital trying to chase up the appointment, all to no avail. One excuse follows another and today we were told it had gone to appointments, we then spoke to appointment who said it was not allocated to a specialist, so it had been sent back, this is despite a emergency referral for one of their own specialists, a re-referral from our GP in June and many phone calls.
Someone, hopefully the CQC will once again look at the practices and procedures at ULHT as my wife's treatment can be nothing less than negligent, your patients suffer due to your lack of organisation and bureaucratic red tape, living in Lincolnshire should not mean we get second class health care.
Please can someone take action to ensure the dire treatment we have received is stamped out?
