"Knee replacement"

About: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital

Being a past customer for 8 months in 1964 recovering from a road traffic acciddent I elected to have my knee repaired at the woodlands as it was known. The first lucky break was finding my consultant surgeon who after many x rays and m,r,i, scans recomended a complete lower limb refurbishment. My ankle joint was un/operable due to severe damage of a double compound fracture the tibia/fibia boneswere also compound fractures repaired by bone grafts from the hip this served me well for the next 51 years. As the consultant surgeon said, they enjoy a good challenge and has given me my life back. To all the staff on ward 1 thank you for looking after me
