What I liked

I have been in and out of ward d9 for most of this year, the staff are so friendly and nothing is ever to much trouble for them , day or night. the visting is 24 hours, which when dealing with the terminal illness that i have, means family can be with me at all times, and are made to feel welcome to stay over night, and also being allowed to use your mobile phone on the ward, is a great comfort, this is a very friendly ward, and all staff take the time to chat, they are a great bunch, and deserve so much credit for what they do, for the patients and there familys.

What could be improved

pharmacy having medications ready for when you are discharged, often have to wait hours for those before you can leave. But the hospital is a large hospital with many patients waiting for medication, the only improvement would be the pharmacy for this hospital.

We were very pleased to hear of your experiences on ward D9. We will ensure the staff are aware of your kind words. With respect to the delays with discharge medication it is not necessarily the case that the problem rests with Pharmacy as sometimes it can be that the planning of the discharge could have been better and medications requested sooner. This is the process we are constantly looking to improve. Once again thank you for taking the time to provide your comments.
