"Postnatal care was diasppointing"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had quite a positive experience with my antenatal care over the last 9 months. It seemed to be much improved and more timely in comparison to the 2 previous births I've had at Jessops.

The postnatal care however, was a bit disappointing. Whilst there appeared to be quite a few staff, midwives were certainly thin on the ground. I had a particularly bad experience with being discharged and having spoken to quite a few other Mums, they have also experienced similar delays and frustrations.

It really soured what had been quite a positive experience. Better communication between staff would have improved my particular circumstances and when I asked whether my experience could be fed back to the people concerned (not a complaint just to make them aware of the impact of their actions), I was met with quite a bit of hostility.
