"Ash Ward - Excellent"

I just wanted to write to compliment the care and attention that the staff on Ash Ward KGH gave to my Dad whilst he was a patient there. Every member of staff that I encountered during his 2.5 week stay were professional, courteous and caring. It is clearly a ward with patients that require a high level of attention and the staff were often run off their feet, but throughout their professionalism stood out. My Dad has been in many, many hospitals over the years – his hospital file was huge but my Mum and I both agreed this was the best care he had ever received and whilst he passed away on Wednesday there would not be a better ward for him to spend his last days. In his last 3 days he was unconscious and the family were often there at all times of the night and day but we were never made to feel we were in the way. Two Sisters in particular along with the two doctors were all fantastic but every nurse and care assistant should not be left out – this is a real team effort and they are a total credit to both KGH and the Trust as a whole.
