"Everything was great except..."

About: Queen's Hospital, Burton Upon Trent

Overall I am very happy with the care I received in maternity ward, especially when I came back to hospital 3 days after delivery with a postnatal sepsis. The week I have spent in maternity ward was filled with good experience, the staff was friendly, food was great. The midwives helped me with breastfeeding and advise. Thank you. During my long labour I was lucky to have brilliant midwife, with a great knowledge and professional attitude. They explained me a lot and answered my every question, unlike another midwife, who took over the shift. This midwife wasn't very keen to explain me the situation, to answer the questions I had. I was hoping that during the pushing stage of labour the midwife will instruct me what to do. Instead of professional advice how to breath, when to push, midwife told me to do what my body tells me, whatever feels right - which I think, wasn't a proper midwife's instruction. I regret the first midwife didn't stay with me till the end of the labour, it would be a wonderful experience. I did trust them and I wouldn't have to worry long time after my labour whether some things which happened were normal or not.
