My first experience of giving birth at York was in February 2013 and it wasn't a pleasant experience. There were complications with the birth which made things happen very quickly and out of my controle. I ended up having an emergence forceps delivery and needing stitches. Despite this the staff were very helpful and tried there best to help me in any way they could. My second experience was September 2014 this birth was very quick and also had its complications. My midwife wasn't in the room when I felt the urge to push and they rushed back into the room as quickly as they could when his head was born. My second son was born in meconium and needed some assistance after birth. The paediatric team were fantastic and explained everything that was going on while they were working on my son. Been a second time mum I still experienced the high level of care as I did with my first. The midwifes and doctors on labour ward and g2 were fantastic
