2 years ago I was diagnosed with Atrial fibrillation and was recently admitted to CCU for a cardioversion. From arrival to discharge everything was planned and performed professionally. The procedure was explained fully by all the staff members I came into contact with and while I was admittedly a bit anxious I found it to be totally pain free and actually quite straight forward. I literally feel asleep shortly after receiving the anaesthetic and woke shortly afterwards to be informed it had been a success. Within 15 minutes I was sat up eating toast, drinking tea and reading the paper. A few hours later I was on my way home. I couldn't have wished for anything more. One thing that impressed me was that the ward staff seemed to work well together and I was kept fully informed at all times. Can I just reassure anyone who may feel nervous about this procedure that they have absolutely nothing to worry about. It honestly is totally painless. Everything was organised and performed really well. The care and treatment I received was excellent throughout so it's a big thanks to all involved and here's looking forward to enjoying my improved health.
"Excellent all round."
