I have had the above and nobody is willing to provide the colonic Irrigation that's needed.
I have Kidney Failure, very restricted to what laxatives I can take.
Laxatives, suppositories and enemas were ALL unsuccessfully tried.
The only option left is the Irrigation but because I cant do the procedure independently I have not been given the option by SRFT (they discontinued going any further) or Bolton District Nurses.
I am now on a regular basis suffering from Faecal Overflow due to the Impaction.
It is my belief that the Neurogenic Bowel Guidelines are not being implemented.
I am also severely disabled and wheelchair bound which compounds the situation.
This situation I now find myself in is just unbelievable.
'Failure to meet the needs of individuals for effective bowel management may be seen as neglect, under the definition of abuse in the NMC statement on ‘Practitioner-Client Relationships and the Prevention of Abuse’ (NMC 2002)'. -
Nuerogenic Bowel Guidelines.
