When in a time of crisis I contacted the crisis team and informed them I was in imminent danger, they didn't alert the police or offer me any advice. Later when I was taken home by police the crisis team visited and treated me like a parasite. I have never been made to feel so worthless in my entire life. I was made to feel like I was just trying to acquire attention, when my behavior was out of sheer desperation and emotional despair. They offered me no advice about how to cope and didn't even mention the prospect of admission. I feel that they never admit anyone and the only way people get admitted is via Police section 136. When you are feeling so low and vulnerable you need support and compassion, not total indifference and callousness. The way they treated me made me go out and try to end my life again, I'm not sure I would of done this so immediately had it not been for the way they treated me. Absolutely disgusting level of service provided to me by Darlington & South Durham Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team. The police have less training yet seem to have more human compassion and understanding than most people from the Crisis Team.
"Appalling level of service by Crisis Team"
