I had a bad fall last November 2014 & was taken by ambulance to A&E. The ambulance team arrived promptly & were kind & efficient in their care. I was seen moderately quickly in A&E & given pain relief & X-rays which confirmed that my humerus was broken. The decision was taken to hopefully let the bone heal without surgery. My only criticism is that the discharge from A&E was a bit hazy, especially when I was in significant pain & somewhat in shock, not the best combination to take in what was happening. I had to ask for a sling to support the arm when I was told I was able to go home & no appointment was made for the fracture clinic. After a couple of weeks I rang the fracture clinic myself & made an appointment. From then on the service has been fantastic. The fracture clinic team were prompt, caring, informative & supportive & subsequently the physio team have done a brilliant job getting my arm working again. I'd like to thank them all for their exemplary work.
