Was ambulanced in about 16:30. The ambulance crew and paramedic were outstanding as were the nursing staff. I suffer from Atrial fribulation (AF).
I was feeling very unwell and when in A&E the staff were great but I felt the Dr's were very over stretched and under staffed. The Dr's seemed to be running round. And although wired up to the ECG machine and a blood test taken I was left on the trolley till about 21:45.
When asked to stand up and the heart rate went up and I still felt dizzy the heart was still out of rhythm but the Dr said you can go home. Husband came over and picked me up. I was told to see my GP as soon as I could.
I strongly feel this was the wrong thing to have been done. I was so unwell for Sunday and I should have returned but felt the treatment on Sat was so unimpressive I could not. I spent Tues morning on the phone and will be speaking with cardiologist on Thurs.
Your A&E needs to be sorted into two departments and relieve the Dr's to do the ambulances.
In the past I have been kept in overnight and on other occasions I have been medicated back into rhythm.
