I am in the process of attending for brachytherapy the treatment for which commenced with a mini-TURP. It is early days in terms of my cancer but I have nothing but praise for the St Luke's Cancer Centre staff, especially the specialist brachytherapy nurse and the Professor who carried out the TURP a couple of weeks ago. I understand the point of the previous reviewer who complained that there were no male nurses with whom to discuss issues of potential impotence, incontinence etc but the brachytherapy nurse could not have been more sensitive or professional in this capacity. Perhaps more importantly I got the distinct impression that they really cared about my care. I was a person with a problem, not a 'patient'. I certainly couldn't recommend the department or its staff more highly.
"Sensitive and incredibly professional care"
