Recently I had an appointment with a gynecologist to discuss my suspected Endometriosis. After waiting an hour to get my appointment, I was escorted to a room and told by a nurse (who was rather friendly) to wait there and that the doctor wouldn't be long. After another 10+ minutes of waiting on my own in a small room, the doctor came in and, without any warmth or politeness, started to talk at me at about 50 mph. I was taken aback by this, but sat and listened to every word they said, hoping at some point to get a break to ask the list of questions that I had spent the night before preparing. This break did not come, as they continued to talk and talk in an abrasively condescending tone. I felt thoroughly disrespected as they spoke down to me as though I was clearly an idiot who knew nothing about Endo (I have spent hours researching it.) I did not get one chance to say how I felt, or ask the many questions I had (I felt it would be rude to interrupt) before they threw some papers down at me, turned on their heel and walked out the room. I left the hospital feeling like I had been treated like an object and not a person. I do not have a bad word to say about the nurses who were the only people who made the visit somewhat pleasant. But the doctor I had the displeasure of dealing with left a sour taste in my mouth and made me never want to return to the place again.
"Extremely rude gynecologist"
