Just had a tonsillectomy and at 44 yrs old this was my first operation and/or hospital visit. Treatment took place in day care unit of ENT department.
I'm not usually one for writing reviews but had to document the outstanding care I have received. Over the last few months of visits of dealings with the Derby ENT department from receptionists to secretaries to Nurses to Consultants, it has been nothing but an efficient and professional service. I have been kept informed, appointments have run on time and everyone has been kind and courteous.
No more so than operation day yesterday where I was treated so supportively. I could not have been made to feel more safe or comfortable before and after the op, which was hugely comforting as I was very nervous. Everyone from the ward team to the theatre team to the recovery guys were fantastic - a big thank you to everyone involved.
Derby Hospitals facilities are also great - the treatment centre is light, airy and clean. The blood test centre in the main hospital is the only let down - cramped, and disappointingly over crowded. Otherwise a really positive first hospital experience.
Many thanks.
