I had my third baby at East Surrey and can not fault my care at all. I was booked in for an induction in january, I was started off in rusper and was moved over the to delivery suite quickly as the midwifes felt they could not give me the care I needed due to a previous quick labour. My care in delivery was spot on and my midwife made me feel relaxed and was very supportive with me trying different positions as I had to be on a monitor. After I had baby I made a request to have my own room which we were happy to pay for as I feel you do not get much chance to rest since partners can stay overnite, with my 2nd child I did not get any rest at all with mobils ringing, couples arguing and men even walking round in there boxers shorts demanding a bed to sleep in! The wards are cramped enough as it is. We were giving our own room and went home the next day very rested after having a good night sleep, without the hussle and bussle. I can understand having your partner there after a c section as I had one with my first, but surely its not good to have both parents up all night as I feel dad needs to be resfed to help out, also ther are mums that need rest as they have other children at home. Would also like to say thanks to the midwifes that done my paper work quickly so I could get home by 4pm to surprise my 3 year old after nursery, and thankyou to my midwife who deliverd my baby girl and the midwife on nights that got me my room.
