"Disappointed with ophthalmology clinic"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Ophthalmology Solihull Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a parent/guardian),

Visited heartlands a couple of times with my daughter after referal from the opticians.

Pretty disappointed really, visited twice, my daughter had blurry vision and was prescribed glasses that she couldn't see out of! Then when we went back the nurse sent my daughter out of the room and told me it was all in her head!

She was then found to have abrasions on her cornea and was told it was caused by allergies. We then transfered to Solihull and two visits later discovered it was all caused by eye infections.

Cross with the whole experience which took weeks and weeks but more cross with the nurse who voiced her own opinions far too quickly.

Dear Teddycat

Thank you for your comments regarding your daughter's treatment and care at Heartlands Hospital Ophthalmology Service.

I am sorry that you have concerns and wish to look into this in more detail.

Can I please ask you to contact me directly on 0121 424 0808 or by email:

marie.helebert@heartofengland.nhs.uk so that I may obtain more information to identify your daughter on our system and I can investigate more thoroughly? It would be most appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards

Marie Helebert
