My positive story about my pain management consultant disappeared...and now my contribution seem full of complaints processes. I want to add something positive in the stories beneath my name. My occupational therapist sarah has proved very inspiring. She just saw the problems I was having and acted upon them in a way that both had humour and respected my dignity. The problems she observed are physical ones that cause me great embarrassment and distress to share. Her care has taken a way some of the shame and despair at my body failing and at the same time has given me hope about the professionals in the system who manage to remain dedicated despite all the pressures on them. She has also given me hope about life itself, just through restoring my faith in humanity!

Staff appreciate hearing when things have gone well. I therefore have forwarded your feedback to Sarah’s managers and requested that her contribution to both your care and other patients care, be recognised. At Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust, we are able to put forward staff to receive awards for outstanding service.
