I visited the A&E unit of wishaw general after experiencing abdominal pains and shortly afterwards I was admitted to ward 18, being 43 years of age and well traveled I have had to visit a few hospitals in my life.
right from the start the staff were well mannered, friendly and extremely professional. which hasn't always been the way from experiences in other hospitals.
the nurses were attentive and doctors explained what was happening. however my main reason for filling this out is to praise the day shift nursing staff in the ward. no matter how busy they were and the ward was extremely busy, they could not have done enough to assist all of the patients within my room.
some of patients were enjoying good laughs and banter which the staff got the brunt of and took all in the best possible way (all good humoured)
when it became time to sort us out they were extremely attentive and ensured we were comfortable and relaxed ensuring we knew what was happening EG. CT scan appointments etc.
I was a patient in a hospital in Dubai which was more like a hotel but I never experienced the care and attention that these staff showed (apart from no choccy biscuits hahaha)
I do not know if the hospital recognises staff for going above and beyond. if so I would highly recommend you recognise the team that were looking after me during my stay.
I have worked in sales all of my life and know what it is like to have people complain over the slightest little thing but you never get to hear from the customers that have received excellent service. so please take this as my way of saying thank you and should I have the misfortune to have to visit the hospital again I hope I have the privilege of being looked after by the same people.
its a tough enough job you all do and I personally thank you for every effort you make on a daily basis,
