"Pain in my knee"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

This story is being posted by Healthwatch Oldham on behalf of another individual who wishes to remain anonymous. Any response will be communicated to the individual involved.

I suffered with pain in my knee. I went to work as I'm a volunteer. I had to come home as the pain was that bad. I called at my local health centre, when I was explaining my problem I was asked if I had broken it. I was told there was no appointments available and to go to the Oldham walk in centre.

I waited 2 hours only to be told to go to A+E as they thought I had pulled a ligament. There I had an x-ray. Two weeks later I was seen by a consultant who said it was a baker cyst which he would remove. I have a scan in two weeks. I should not have to wait 3 weeks before I can see my Doctor. I do not go very often. They need evening surgery hours.
