I received wonderful care on ward 4 high dependency unit following thoracic surgery on 14.4.15 with the consultant and team. My heartfelt thanks for the way I was nursed in my most vulnerable days after the surgery. I felt very safe and so well looked after. Especially by one of the nurses. Their kindness and competence made me feel at ease and I always felt better when they were around. They gave me a lot of strength and to me they define what it is to be an amazing nurse! The nurses were kind and professional. From the surgical team to the staff who brought my meals, to the physios, I witnessed such a great example of a well run team. Everything seemed to run smoothly, I was so grateful to be in such an environment. Everyday I'm getting stronger and am able to do more. I wish to thank all the staff involved in my recovery for making the unpleasant as bareable as possible. I am truly grateful to them for getting me through such a scary time. Warmest regards Katie Cooke
