"Seriously great to be even more alive thanks to you all"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine University Hospital Wishaw / Medical Oncology

(as the patient),

Under the care of Dr. Dodds & his team, I have just completed my course of 10 x 3 week chemo sessions and feel wonderful. Apart from my first session which took away all my white cells OUCH! Spent a week in Hairmyres recovering well.

The following treatments were reduced by 10% and it was perfect with NO SIDE EFFECTS! This has shown up on my stats as being truly successful on all counts including kidney function PSA and blood counts.

I have to thank everyone from Dr. Dodds, Jo and all the medical staff for their attention to my needs during every session. The Soup / lunch was brilliant

( Chocolate Horlicks would have been nice ) ha ha!

Glad you liked the tablet guys it was my pleasure.

Seriously great to be even more alive thanks to you all.

Kindest regards.

Dear Photographer Tablet chap

Thank you for your kind comments about your care. I also answered your previous posting, but when I have tried to 'play detective' and pass on your thanks to the teams who cared for you, I am struggling to find out where specifically you were treated. If you want to give me more information I will feed back your thanks directly to the staff.

Whether it was within Hairmyres or any other of our sister NHS hospitals, I'm glad you had such a positive experience at such a difficult time in your life. In the NHS in Scotland we try very hard to provide not only exeptional clinical care; but also to temper this with care and compassion. Reading above, it seems to me that we achieved this for you - and clearly being paid in tablet will have delighted the team looking after you...

I hope you continue to make a good recovery.

Thanks

Susan

Hi Susan

The Hairmyres issue was the nephrostomy changing and it was while I was in Ward 3 in the care of Dr. Reid? & teams / shifts.

I had a severe chest infection and required full on antibiotics all week. I also had a blocked nephrostomy tube which was sent off by the lab people for analysis as it was in such a state. And yes the tablet was given here as well as Wishaw where I got my chemo treatment ( now ended after 30 weeks 3 x 10 )!

Thanks P.T.Chap. It sounds like you've had a tough time! I'm glad your treatment has gone well. I'll make sure your feedback is shared with all the ward 3 team.

Thanks

Susan
