About: Woodbourne Priory (birmingham)

After over a year in the nhs system, I was offered nothing apart from meds- after giving up on the NHS for mental health treatment due to being hospitalised for self harm and being given no support, I turned to the priory. I have had very positive communications and after having my gp referring on the friday I had received a letter by the tuesday offering me treatment and forms to fill in regarding treatment. I sent the forms off yesterday and am expecting a reply soon- not only this, I have been given much more control about when I want appointments and what kind of treatment I would like. I have also attending the Beat group there and it has been thoroughly helpful. Someone comes into the session for the second half and helps the group to talk more objectively about their eating disorders. I would highly recommend attending these groups as they're funded by Beat so they're free and have helped me greatly. overall a great place for treatment
