"Poor midwifery experience at Russells Hall hospital"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

(as the patient),

my wife has recently had a baby girl at russells hall hospital, the events ufold as such, first of all she went on the maternity ward as any mom would, she was induced with no problems, then she went into labour where problems arose, first the baby was lying back to back which the babys back was rubbing on the nerves of my wifes spine which was causing vast amount of pain which got untolerable. During the pushing the nerve pain and contractions was not letting my wife push properly this was dissmissed by the mid-wife by saying she was not putting her full effort into pushing. then during critical parts of the labour the mid-wife kept on dissappearing every 2-3 minuetes to go else where, leaving me the husband very panicked as i did not know what to do next. when she eventually came back she was very flustered and this showed during the labour. then she kept saying the baby was nearly crowned when infact she was no where nea., then after more accusastions to my wife about not pushing properly, she dissappeared again not to return for 10 minuetes.

Then when she had run out of ideas what to to she then and only then decided to call the doctor. In my opinion the mid-wife was non-proffessional and very sloppy. when the doctor came he took control by examing my wife and ordering a emergency ceaserian. this is the only time any one was proffessional about their job, thanks to the doctor and theatre team they did a outstanding job, which was a relief to my wife and i, and saved my child and the day....

we have been so traumatised by the way the labour went, and the non-effiecency of the mid-wife that we plan on having no more children, as i will not put my wife through thatsort of ordeal ever again..... so anyone thinking of having children either have a home birth or use a different hospital...
