I gave birth to my second son in PA hospital, and I am very impressed. All the staff were lovely and very attentive. I had my first son in Winchester hospital, and while I had a good experience, I was left unattended there for ages while in labour. I only managed to get someone to come to me when I was fully dilated. That was not nice and pretty scary. In PA there was always someone with me or right near by if I needed them. I also could use a buzzer button and someone would come within a minute. I felt very safe and well cared for. One downside was the food, so my advice is to take your own snacks if you can! Also, once I gave birth it took 6 hours to get me stitched up (one tear), give my baby vitamin K, write up my document and finally after lots of waiting transfer me to the post-labour ward. I felt that this was rather long, considering that I could have slept most of these precious 6 hours, but had to stay awake waiting for this and that... Apart from that, I can't fault the hospital. Wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff, you were brilliant!
"Was very well cared for - thank you!"
