"F16 Day case"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

I came in for a laparoscopic sterilisation in January 2015, everything went well but I went down late and when I came to recovery the member of staff was waking me up but I could tell I was not ready to come round and I had blurred vision until I was taken back to the ward, it felt like they just wanted to get me to the ward asap. I still remained dizzy and slightly blurred vision I told the nurse this but they didn’t seem to bother and I was asked it I wanted tea and toast, meanwhile a member of staff came over and lifted up my gown and threw a sanitary towel between my legs and just went. I got my tea and toast but my mouth was so dry I could not eat it and I was still feeling slight sick and dizzy, I told the nurse and they did give me an anti sick injection. I was told I could leave when I wanted, I packed my things, still feeling wobbly and started to wobble down the corridor when the nurse said have you got someone to meet you here and I said yes but they wont be able to come in so the nurse did actually walk me to the car. When I got home I realised I had not been to the toilet and I know they usually ask you to do this before you leave. The next day I was feeling better but I just felt that because it was late and it’s a day case they just wanted to get rid of me. The op and people in theatre were all brilliant.
