I am very shocked and disappointed with my experience with the maternity services as a first time teen mum. Some of the midwife's were absolutely lovely, but others were not. I had a lot of amniotic fluid and they was not changing me regularly enough, they kept ripping the gas and air out of my mouth saying "you don't need that" when I was in the middle of contractions. I had an epidural and when it came to delivering the baby the midwife was trying to make me place my legs on the stirrups by myself and lift my bum when I was completely numb. The same thing happened when my legs were to be removed from the stirrups. I required stitches after giving birth and they messed that up as well. According to my midwife who visited me at home the stitches were a complete mess, all knotted and in one instead of separate stitches. They had trouble removing them and it was extremely painful. Also I was complaining of feeling sick and the midwife kept telling me to "stop being silly, your stomach's empty so nothing will happen." I vomited twice. They were very ignorant and I feel that they had very little respect for me.
"Very Disappointed."
