Following surgery due to a prolapse of the bladder I was retaining more urine in the bladder than I was passing, so it became necessary to use catheters to resolve the problem. I was quite upset about this, thinking I would have to use an unsightly catheter bag and drainage. However a very understanding nurse on the ward, sympathetic to my feelings, gave me a very small catheter appliance - specifically developed for women - to try. The coated catheter appliance comes ready to use in a sterile solution. It is easy to use and can be carried in my handbag. It measures just 3.5 inches.
I had to send my prescription to Peterborough and have the catheters delivered. This was no problem since they sent me two months supply at a time. All I had to do when I received the prescription was phone the service on a free-phone number and the supply was delivered the following day.
Since the new Community Health Services have opened in Rotherham it is even simpler. All I have to do is phone the centre, give my name, and they contact Chartercare with the prescription immediately, and the product arrives by 9.00am the following day. An excellent service. Thankyou to the staff at the Health Centre and thankyou to Chartercare.
Sincerely, a very grateful patient.
