My 85year old father attended QE2 today a referral from his Dr . Fit & healthy all of his life this was a strange & worrying day for him & me his daughter . As soon as we entered the doors into the urology dept we were made to feel at ease . From the 2 receptions that greeted him with a gentle manner to the nurses & Dr who all showed such kindness it was an excellent experience . The news that he has prostrate cancer although a huge shock we feel confidant that he we receive excellent care & was put on a course of medication immediately . As we approached the in house pharmacy we were told their system had gone down & they were unable to process his prescription ! What to do now ? Again such kindness shown it was suggested that we leave our mobile phone number & go have a coffee at the hospital cafe . We did just that & before we had finishes a delicious coffee my phone rang to say the system was back up & running & my dad's prescription was ready to collect . We could not have wishes for better service NHS at its best thank you one & all .
