After waiting for over an hour to park my car, I was then subjected to a one and half hour wait in the oral surgery unit. I appreciate clinics may run late and there are sometimes unforseen circumstances but there is no excuse for patients to sit in a corridor waiting room for hours on end and not to be told the clinic is running late or how long you will have to wait. I took time off work to keep my appointment at the hospital but as I had already been gone 3 hours I could not wait for my appointment and had to go back to work, when I asked for another appointment to be made I was then told it would be another two months! Unfortunately some people cannot take constant time off work and if I had been informed I would not been seen for two hours after the 10.15 appointment I could have come into the hospital much later. Perhaps a text could have been sent. Please ask your receiptionists to inform patients when there is a long wait.
