"Variable care at Queens Hospital"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

(as the patient),

I was recently a patient at Queens after undergoing emergency surgery for a punctured bowel,I have nothing but absolute praise for the surgeon,a Mr Gladman and the consultant and other members of the team, including Dr Mike Eden,however-when I was moved from the high dependency unit to a surgical ward, things went downhill in a big way.the poor nurses are rushed off their feet and as patients we certainly didn`t get adequate care, and the hygene was poor to say the least, which resulted in my being moved to a side ward as I contracted a bug which I was told was from the ecolii group, the communication was poor also, and there was a shortage of wound dressings.I actually feel sorry for the poor staff having to work under such trying conditions, however I will always be grateful to the staff for trying their best in a bad situation
