"My thanks to the team of 2A and the NHS in general"

About: Wycombe Hospital

On the 13/2/2015 the 111 service had a paramedic team come to my house at 4 am to check me over as my symptoms were heart related. After very accurate ECG diagnostics they took me to my local hospital in Stoke Mandeville who saw me straight away and felt I would be better in High Wycombe Cardiac. I was taken to Hight Wycombe Ward 2A for further tests. They beat the waiting time targets by a mile. No waiting and all all times I was kept informed of the tests, why they were needed and what treatments might be required. I could have not been treated better anywhere. On the ward 2A, I saw the staff go about their difficult work in a cheery, friendly and at all time professional manner despite my witnessing some very awkward and sometimes rude patients. Right through the night I saw these young nurses and doctors, smile, laugh and deal with issues other might have given up on a walked out. I was checked on regularly and always with a smile. I was fortunate not to be as ill as some of the patients around me but I was treated with the same urgency as the ill patients. I want to thank the staff of Ward 2A for my care from Friday morning through to my leaving Sat afternoon. Our NHS is much maligned, our NHS staff are underpaid for the work they do. I saw dedication, humour and wonderful staff. I am fortunate to also have private medial insurance but to be honest, I don't believe for a moment the private sector would have done a better job than the paramedics and staff on the NHS. Thank you all, thank you for the smiles, thank you for the treatment and care you gave me. Our NHS must be preserved, our NHS staff should be paid what they are worth, give them the equipment they need. Anyone that has needed the services of the NHS in an emergency, would probably agree, there is none better. Please pass these best wishes to the staff as I was not able to personally thank them.
