"Timing of stay and play session"

About: Mansfield Woodhouse Children's Centre

(as a parent/guardian),

I attend stay and play session on a Monday with my 2 year old, and we enjoy it, but I have noticed it has started finishing way before 11. 30am with us often being home by 11. 20 even though we stay for a snack and are often one of last to leave, would be great if say the snack could be given about 11. 15 rather than 11 so that there's more time to play.

It would also be great if there was another stay and play session in the week as well, perhaps one afternoon as my son benefits from attending as he loves to play and interact with other kids his age.

The staff on the whole are lovely, especially Lynsey and Kacia.

Thank you for your comments about our Stay and Play session and I am glad you and your child enjoy the session. This is a very popular session and can get very busy as you will be aware. The staff have tried various timings with snack to try and make this a special time where children can development their social skills and can learn to choose and share with other children. They also have to bear in mind that we have to prepare our playroom for our adult learning creche session which starts at 1pm.

I have spoke to the team and they are going to make snack a little later so hopefully everyone finishes around 11.30am to leave the centre.

You are absoloutley right to point out the session finishes at 11.30 so if a child finished their snack or didn't want to be part of snack then the playroom is still available to be used.

Again, thank you for sharing your views and I will pass on your positive comments to Kacia and Lynsay who work very hard to provide quality early learning experiences for children who attend the Children's Centre.
