"mobility more of a concern than health"

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

unbelievable lack of care given to elderly people, although my 82 year old mother was the first time admitted to hospital in ill health, their main concern was her mobility, which was lost after a week in short stay ward (no room on any other ward), she was put in a side room, no telly, phone or anyone to talk to, put on a commode. she was medically fit after a week, but lost her mobility to lack of care, we asked for her to be moved to a ward with people to talk to and a telly and get her up to use toilet, they moved her to another ward, side room, no telly and catheter fitted, care assistant told us she leans too hard on us, so catheter fitted, after 4 weeks and endless questions about mobility she came home. approx two weeks later mum admitted to hospital again with we were told it was a infection, which was pneumonia, endless questions about mobility and how she lives, my sister and i give mum 24 hour care a day, this time she was in about 10 days, i was phoned on Friday by doctor to ask about mobility and care at home!! told we could pick her up Saturday, phoned to ask what time to pick her up and was told her notes were missing, cant go home without them, apparently doctor had them and wanted her to go to OT, mum was in tears, we got a senior nurse who said she is ok to go home..mum back in hospital today, her GP did not notice when she did a home visit or her GP nurses that mum had fluid on her lungs, she fell, had to have 16 stitches in top of arm, shes fine, but here we go again, mobility, physio and OT contacted, shes a 82 year old woman, 16 stitches in top of arm,Edema of legs and feet, lungs full of fluid (asthmatic) she walked with frame and back to chair and sat down, not good enough, tried to make her walk later, but she was tired. if she had, had more care in hospital she would have not lost her mobility, lack of care disgusting, food left and taken away if unable to eat, not washed or teeth brushed and the main concern is mobility!!!! left mum tonight knowing she wont eat or drink or be made mobile. also a lot of bad mouthing about patients and their family and carers by staff, (one certain lad )clearly overheard . Doctor who did mums stitches brilliant.
