"Poor Care at Fazakerley Hospital"

My daughter was admitted to hospital (Ward 21) after collapsing at home vomiting and having been ill and unable to eat for a week before her admission.

She was eventually placed in Ward 21, given fluids as she was obviously very dehydrated. She has never in her life used the NHS, she has not been to the GP for several years (she is 23). I expected that the doctors and nursed would take care of her.

She was very obviously ill, couldn’t eat and when the doctor came to see her the next morning she was given no chance of explaining what was wrong with her as she had many other symptoms. The doctor was rude and did not bother listening to her just told her to try to eat! She is NOT anorexic; she was very ill.

My daughter had a temp the morning she was discharged and I was called to take her home even though she still was not eating, feeling ill and weak. They did not check her temp again.

Her care was awful and I felt very sorry for her roommates. My daughter was readmitted (no surprise) and we have now seen her wonderful GP who is doing further tests as she is obviously very ill and more importantly he is listening to her. My daughter is horrified by the treatment and now wants to go private, which is against my principles. However I don’t blame her. How do they get away with it?
