I stumbled and gashed my face in Canterbury Cathedral.
The ambulance crew were from Whitstable were very professional and reassuring. The drivers name was Ian and a young lady. They checked me out and then took me to Canterbury accident and emergency.
Ian explained to the nurses that I was on a day trip and due to catch the coach back to Leicester at 04. 30pm.
A smashing male nurse named Jonathan examined me and then stitched my wounds. I had 20 stitches in my face.
My wife had spoken to a young lady in the reception who reassured her that she would ring for a taxi and get us to the bus station on time. We arrived at the coach at 04. 25pm.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after me. I am sorry if this is a rambling letter, my excuse is that I am a pensioner.
