"Why were we transported from procedure centre to Maple Ward"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had an operation for a prolapse in February at the procedure center at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The next day we were wheelchaired over to Maple Ward at 8 in the evening. The procedure center was excellant and could not be faulted on anything except having us transferred to Maple Ward!

The ward was dirty, overcrowded and there was not proper washing facilities. We had to wash in a tiny toilet as the washing room was stacked with equipment. Staff were really busy and we were left as there were other patients who were elderly and needed constant care.

This was not acceptable and we were not told we would have to be transferred.I have also written a letter to the Hospital with my comments.
