"Forest ward experience"

About: Lings Bar Hospital / Inpatient Nursing and Rehab (Lings Bar)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I don't like TV on all day.

You can't have the programmes you would choose at home.

The main ward light is too bright - on all day. I have soft lighting at home and only watch what I like.

I wouldn't ask for it to be turned off as some people like it. The staff do their best to make things as good as possible.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your stay on Forest Ward - thank you.

I am sure that you appreciate that it can be difficult in a hospital situation to accommodate all peoples taste in television programmes and also the length of time the television is on. I am sorry that for you there was too much T.V., however we do have patient day rooms that can often be more peaceful when patients are up and about.

During the day the ward lights do need to be switched on to allow the nurses to take care of our patients and again I am sorry that the lighting was brighter than you are used to at home.

Thank you for appreciating that the ward staff do their best to make a stay on the ward as pleasant as possible, I will share your comments with the ward team.
