My brother was taken into the A & E department last week. He had serious memory loss, couldnt even remember how to get out of his car or even walk. He couldnt even remember taking his children tos chool that morning It took approx 24 hours before a neurologist consultant came to see him. He wanted all my brothers notes either faxing or emailing to him rather than actually come to see my brother. It was only when the nursing staff demanded he come to attend his patient that he turned up. Prior to going into hospital my brother has been 'unofficlally diagnosed with MS'. With no diagnosis other than a few blood test taken (no scan by the way - he's been told he'll have to have that as an outpatient) he was also seen by a general doctor on A & E who on reading his notes was about to discharge him with 'muscle fatique' until once again the nursing staff stepped in & refused to discharge him. An MS nurse who attended my brother says its not MS this time round but something else. He'll hopefully see a doctor today after the weekend but I believe the paln is to discharge him home today with still no idea whats wrong with him. Nusing staff great -doctors ??
