I would like to thank the staff at Sunderland Royal Hospital for their care, dedication and professionalism when my father who was recently in their care. My father was referred to the hospital by his GP following concerns over his blood pressure, where by my father had numerous tests and scans, including a CT scan on 3/11/14. On 4/11/14 my father was telephoned by his consultant to inform him the CT scan had uncovered a problem and advising him to attend the hospital straight away to be admitted. The consultant informed my father he had had a disected aorta, and would be admitted under the care of another consultant. My father and my family would like to thank both consultants for their professionalism, dedication and the clarity of their explanations and treament, which helped ease our concerns and worries. We would also like to thank the staff on the EACU for their dedication and sense of humour, in what was a worrying time for us. Their exemplary attitude, along with the staff of D44 and C32 are a credit to the Hospital in particular, and to the NHS as a whole. We can not fault the care and the treatment my father has had, and again we would like to pass on our heartfelt thanks and grattitude to everyone involved.
