"The worst weeks of my life in Shuttle Ward"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

I was in absolute agony all of the time. I went in for d.v.t. in my right, thigh, which I did have, but as they found out I was diagnosed with Huntington's disease about 8 years ago there voices changed from nice to nasty, and from then onwards the drs & nurses treated me very badly. My main health problem is ulcerative colitis, I have the same symptoms as bowel cancer and it is just as dangerous. I also have a colostomy bag & very large painful hernia. They sent for the stoma nurse. I was bleeding very badly in to my colostomy bag and the warfarin I take made the bleeding worse. When the nurse arrived it took a very painful 15 mins to put the stoma bag back. This was the only time any one would put on my bag up to 3 a day. While I was here I caught the winter vomiting virus, and food poisioning from fresh milk. I acquired many infections there, including ear nose throat skin eyes bladder unary tract and I still have these infections today & they still cause a lot problems. I had infections so badly that I could not speak or keep my balance. After about a week my voice came back and this surprised the doctors a lot. When I did complain they treat me even worse so soon gave that up. You would have thought being in the ear nose throat ward they would cure me but no.In the end they asked me leave as a bed blocker with out any warfarin at all. I tried to arrange a home help but there was no reply after 8. pm so went home on my own my first & I fell.
