The crisis team refused to come out to our mum. She used to get services but wont go near them now. She gets very psychotic. The police have had to break in lots of times as she is a a danger to herself. We were told the GP rang the crisis team and they said they knew our mum but because she wont work with MH services then they refused to go out. The GP was told to call the police for a welfare check instead.
I read what the other person here said and it feels the same. The crisis team tell people who ring for help that they wont/dont see them if they are seen as difficult patients or have complained. The GP confirms this is what was said. I know another carer from carers group who was told the same thing as her brother wont work with mh teams then crisis teams wont go out. I think it is a Trust management decision.
This is the same team that was in the press recently.
I think the people who respond here from the Trust either dont know or are more interested in looking like saying the right thing.
