Last month, I put a knife through my finger and cut the nerve. I subsequently got tetanus and so attended the City hospital for an operation. The Gillies ward nurses were great and everyone treated me like a real person - talking to me and not over my head. The doctors were great and explained what was happening. It all went very well and I was discharged from the hospital the next day.
I was treated with the highest respect. The ward was very clean and the toilets were spotless. Gillies ward was very relaxing, as there were no TVs or radios. I can't praise the doctors and staff enough. Hopefully, the feeling in my finger will come back within the next 6 months.
A week later, I went to Cotgrave surgery to have a new dressing put on my finger and the nurse was brilliant.
Being on Gillies ward has restored my faith in nurses and hospitals.
"Good nursing care on Gillies ward at the City hospital"
