"Strong recommendation for Cardio Rehab programme"

I had an excellent experience with the Cardiology team at Ashford and St.Peter's Hospital. Initial consultation and tests occurred quickly and the need for surgery to replace a heart valve was identified. Surgery was arranged and took place within eight or so weeks of diagnosis. I was very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of all the staff that I interacted with. Following my discharge I accepted the offer to take part in the Cardio Rehab programme, in my case at the gym in Ashford Hospital. I took the whole 6 week programme and had a very positive experience. The team were exceptional, really able to motivate and encourage people regardless of their level of fitness and demographic. I was pretty focussed on making as fast a recovery to fitness as possible and found the support really helpful. Taking part in the classes was not at all intimidating but actually a lot of fun and set me up well to continue building up my fitness level, working on my own and also with a more advanced rehab programme at Feltham Airparcs, to which I was referred by the hospital. I can thoroughly recommend that anyone offered the option of taking part in the Cardio Rehab programme following treatment should do so.
