I went into hospital in August after waiting since December. My experience of the administration and in particular the admissions team was really not good and I didn't feel I was treated with any dignity by them! (Am quite happy to give more info about this and make some suggestions for improvement if they are of any interest) However once admitted in August I have nothing but praise for everyone who dealt with me. I was treated with complete dignity and looked after brilliantly. My surgery was handled really well and I had a minimal amount of pain (Thank you, nearly 3 months later I have only tiny scars and feel so much better than before my op!) I was unsure about having a spinal block, but it was fine and it really helped manage the pain. The nursing staff on Beech Ward were excellent in particular Helen was wonderful. I had my own room and at no time had to call my nurse call bell as nurses always seemed to appear when I needed something. I really appreciated how hard they work and what gruelling shift patterns they have to ensure continuation of treatment, it was so nice to actually connect with people who were looking after me. I cant thank you all enough, 3 months on I feel so much better than I have for quite a while and I am very grateful for all your care.
