"Why not have appointments for non-emergency accidents?"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Recently I took my daughter down to Northampton General with what turned out to be a fractured finger. It was not an emergency - it had happened the day before. We had to wait three hours in A+E to be seen as there were more urgent cases.

Can I suggest an appointment system for such cases? I would have been much happier to have been able to make an appointment direct or via the surgery. This would have meant less waiting on our part, and we wouldn't have been blocking up the system for emergency cases.
