Having developed a urinary infection I called 111 for advice as I was in a lot of pain. The girl who answered was lovely, she was very thorough and went through a lot of questions about my symptoms. I told her I had taken an antibiotic that was in the house, not specifically for a water infection. She was very kind about it and said that given the amount of pain I was in it was understandable. The 111 team then called me a short while later and asked me to go to the out of hours service at Poole hospital where they had made an appointment for me to be seen by a doctor.
The receptionist who took all my details at the out of hours service in the Red Clinic was lovely. I was then seen by Dr Nyman. He was absolutely charming, took a lot of time going through my symptoms and was really, really nice. I was worried about telling him about taking the antibiotic but he was very reassuring about it.
