I had to call 999 yesterday evening to request an Ambulance as was suffering chest pains. They arrived very quick. The call operator stayed on the phone with me until they arrived. This kept me more calm and as soon as the Paramedics arrived I felt I was in very safe hands and they helped put me at ease. They treat me in the Ambulance before setting off to take me to A&E. We had got there to find there were no beds available. It was not like you hear about leaving you on a trolley in the corridor. The Paramedics kept me on their trolley and stayed with me until a bed was available and I was still under their care until they were able to hand over. This was even more reassuring knowing I was not going to be left. The staff in A&E were brilliant and made me feel reassured and made me at ease. I was transferred to the Short Stay ward within A&E and they were also second to none. My whole experience was absolutely brilliant. Control Room, Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses, Even the porters and the cleaners were brilliant and very friendly. They all deserve a recognition for their exceptional care they gave me yesterday evening.
