I had to spend a few days on the stroke ward (ward 4) recently. I was overwhelmed by how caring and empathetic the staff are. They were clearly pushed for time, being several nurses short, but the care they showed for patients who needed their help was amazing. Some patients needed a lot of care and the staff's approach to them was to give them the help they needed without rushing them or making them feel that they were a nuisance. The overall feeling was that the staff really cared and if I might quote one of the nurses: "I promise I'll do my very best for you xxxx. I just hope that's good enough. ". The staff on this ward are a credit to the NHS.
"Wonderfully caring staff"
