I have just filled in your feedback form and rated the ambulance I was taken to hospital in as poor. Then I felt I wanted to change my story to elaborate why I thought this was so, but have been unable to find any way to re-edit my story.
I wanted to make clear that the ambulance I was taken to hospital in was clean and had everything the staff needed. The staff were wonderful and treated me extremely well.
However, the ambulance itself was shabby and gave the impression that apart from making them roadworthy, they lacked any other comforts. The staff tried to confirm I had had a heart attack by performing an ECG but had difficulty doing this because I was unable to lie perfectly still due to the extreme cold in the vehicle.
It had stood outside my house with the back doors open to the snow and other cold elements. The whole thing rattled about and looked extremely basic. However, I did feel looked after and cared for. I would like the staff (and of course patients) to have a more modern vehicle with facilities to make their difficult job easier.
"Great staff in a shabby ambulance"
